The Chery Tiggo 9 CSH has officially entered Indonesia and will enliven the hybrid car segment. This model was introduced as part of the Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) lineup. The launch of this car also marks Chery's commitment to supporting the electrified vehicle ecosystem.
The Chery Tiggo 9 CSH is designed as a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) powered by both a gasoline engine and an electric motor. Before arriving in Indonesia, this hybrid SUV was first introduced at Auto Shanghai 2025 and the Chery International Business Summit (IBS) 2025 in China.
The arrival of the Tiggo 9 CSH aims to meet the needs of users who want a premium hybrid car with modern technology and futuristic design. Not only does it offer advanced features, but this car is also equipped with high-level safety systems proven through extreme crash testing.
This vehicle measures 4,810 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width, 1,741 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. Offering 7-passenger capacity, the Tiggo 9 CSH is highly suitable as a family vehicle.
In terms of design, this car looks elegant and sporty with a large grille and chrome accents on the front fascia. From the side, it appears even more stunning with a dynamic silhouette extending to the rear. The use of tightly designed alloy wheels further enhances its premium impression.
Inside, the Tiggo 9 CSH feels luxurious with seats wrapped in high-quality synthetic leather, a modern dashboard, and an ergonomic layout. Interestingly, several parts of the interior use recycled materials. The presence of a panoramic sunroof also gives passengers a spacious and exclusive feel.
The Chery Tiggo 9 CSH uses a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine paired with an electric motor. With the plug-in hybrid system from the additional electric motor, this car offers better fuel efficiency and is more eco-friendly.
The Tiggo 9 CSH engine produces 110 kW or 147 hp with 220 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the electric motor generates 150 kW or 201 hp with 310 Nm of torque.
The battery in this car has a large capacity, enabling a range of up to 210 km in EV mode. This power source provides flexibility and comfort for drivers during both city commutes and long-distance travel.
The Tiggo 9 CSH also offers multiple driving modes: EV, hybrid, or sport. Drivers can select the mode that best suits their needs. In addition, the car is available in an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) variant for improved performance and stability across various terrains.
Focusing not only on performance, Chery also prioritizes safety by equipping the Tiggo 9 CSH with advanced safety technologies. Its strength has been proven through extreme testing at the Longshan test facility in China.
Extreme crash testing was conducted by simulating a collision between two Tiggo 9 CSH units traveling at 56 km/h. In this head-on collision, the front structures of both cars absorbed energy effectively. The airbags deployed on time, and the cabin remained protected without damage to the A and B pillars.
Chery also conducted a spiral rollover test with the Tiggo 9 CSH driven at 86 km/h up an inclined ramp. The car was launched into the air before hitting the ground from over one meter high. Despite pressure on the side and underbody structures, the A to C pillars remained intact without cracks.
The Tiggo 9 CSH was also put through an extreme simulation called “Endless Horizon Worry-Free Voyage.” This SUV was driven for 1,600 km from Sanxia to Shanghai, crossing various road and weather conditions. The results showed that the vehicle remained stable and efficient thanks to the durability of its systems.
Behind its strong and sturdy frame, the car is built with advanced and innovative structural design. The body frame is made of 85% high-strength steel and adopts Tailor Rolled Blank (TRB) technology with submarine-grade strength.
For added protection, the car is also equipped with 10 airbags, including far-side airbag, knee airbag, and 2,060 mm side curtain airbags with pressure-holding technology for up to 6 seconds. All are designed to provide maximum protection on all sides of the cabin.
In addition to its strengths, the Chery Tiggo 9 CSH is equipped with smart features. One of them is a modern infotainment system with a large screen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car is also supported by voice command technology, allowing users to operate various functions through speech.
The Tiggo 9 CSH is also embedded with Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), including Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), and Lane Departure Prevention (LDP).
For battery safety, the car comes with 24-hour monitoring, an underbody steel guard with 590 MPa strength, and IP68 certification, ensuring electrical safety in extreme conditions.
With these specifications and advantages, the Tiggo 9 CSH is set to be an ideal choice for electric car enthusiasts. Alongside this model, Chery also introduces other CSH models in Indonesia, namely the Tiggo 8 CSH and Tiggo 7 CSH.
