Chery Introduces Tiggo 9 CSH at GIIAS 2025, Hybrid SUV with 1,400 Km Range
The success of PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) in launching the Tiggo 8 CSH as one of the most affordable PHEVs in Indonesia marks the first step of their electrification strategy. Chery will launch its newest flagship PHEV SUV at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), taking place from July 24 to August 3, 2025.
Previously, Chery confirmedthat this launch is part of their grand strategy to introduce three CSH (Chery Smart Hybrid) models throughout 2025. One of the most eye-catching models is the Chery Tiggo 9 CSH, which will become the top variant in Chery’s hybrid SUV lineup, featuring advanced technology, the largest body size, and a combined range of up to 1,400 km with a full tank and fully charged battery.
The Chery Tiggo 9 CSH also serves as proof of Chery’s commitment to delivering electrified vehicles that are not only efficient but also powerful and luxurious. Below are some of the highlights that the Chery Tiggo 9 CSH offers to the Indonesian automotive market.
1,400 Km Range – What’s the Secret Behind the Chery Tiggo 9 CSH?
The secret lies in Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) technology, Chery’s fifth-generation hybrid platform that combines an internal combustion engine (ICE) with an electric motor for improved efficiency and performance. Here are the engine specifications of the Chery Tiggo 9 CSH:
- 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine producing 175 kW (around 235 PS) and 385 Nm of torque.
- Combined with a 3DHT electric motor contributing an additional 165 kW and 310 Nm of torque.
- Altogether, the Chery Tiggo 9 CSH hybrid system delivers a total output of 340 kW (around 462 PS) and peak torque of up to 925 Nm.
Thanks to this combination of gasoline engine and electric motor, Chery claims the Tiggo 9 CSH can sprint from 0–100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds. In terms of efficiency, the Tiggo 9 CSH can travel up to 1,400 km in combined gasoline-electric mode, consuming only an average of 5.2 liters per 100 km under WLTC standards.
To adapt to different driving conditions, the Chery Tiggo 9 CSH also comes in an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) variant, offering better traction and stability on slippery roads as well as light off-road terrains.
Premium Design and Spacious Interior
The dimensions of the Chery Tiggo 9 CSH measure 4,810 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width, 1,741 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. With these proportions, the Tiggo 9 CSH is classified as a Medium SUV. Its exterior is designed elegantly with a large grille and chrome accents at the front. A dynamic side silhouette and sleek alloy wheels enhance its premium European-inspired style.
The sense of luxury is immediately felt upon entering the cabin. The front and middle row seats are upholstered in high-quality synthetic leather, the dashboard features a modern design, and the interior layout is both aligned and ergonomic. Overall, the Tiggo 9 CSH interior offers greater luxury compared to its predecessor, the Chery Tiggo 8 CSH. This reflects Chery’s understanding of the needs and expectations of this segment.
Advanced Features and Cutting-Edge Technology
Like other Tiggo models, the Chery Tiggo 9 CSH also comes equipped with advanced passive safety features, including 10 airbags: far-side airbag, knee airbag, and full-length 2,060 mm curtain airbags capable of maintaining pressure for up to six seconds to provide comprehensive protection.
Meanwhile, in terms of active safety, this vehicle is supported by the latest ADAS technology such as Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), and Lane Departure Prevention (LDP). The battery system is also optimally protected with IP68 certification, a 590 MPa steel under-guard, and continuous 24-hour real-time monitoring of battery conditions.
Target Market and Chery’s Commitment in Indonesia
As a medium flagship PHEV SUV, the Chery Tiggo 9 CSH is designed to satisfy consumers who prioritize high performance, fuel efficiency, and premium comfort in one package—surpassing the Tiggo 8 CSH.
With its powerful engine performance, this car is perfect for modern urban families who need a spacious and advanced vehicle for both daily mobility and long-distance trips.
Chery’s commitment goes further—not only offering an engine warranty of up to 10 years or 1 million km, but also promising competitive after-sales services, including free service and spare parts for up to 60,000 km or 4 years.
